Homeschool

Assalammualaikum wbt..

Aulia' tahun ni dah 4 tahun..ramai je kawan-kawan aku dah hantar anak-anak dorang pegi school..playschool la kot. Anak aku play kat nursery je.hehe..memandangkan husband aku keje and aku sepenuh masa buat research and tiap-tiap hari pegi library (walaupun masa aku flexible), kami tak dapat nak hantar Aulia' pegi school lagi. Kekangan transport sebenarnya. Tak sampai hati nak bagi anak naik van/bus pegi balik school. Bila discuss dengan papa Aulia' dia pun tak sampai hati.. So tahun depan ajelah pegi school ye nak..

Aulia' memang hafal A sampai Z sebab aku memang selalu bagi dia dengar lagu ABC.,Kira One two three sampai ten pun dia boleh. Dari kecik aku bagi dia tengok playcard. Kadang-kadang bila tengok cartoon, dia belajar jugak. Especially bila tengok Doc Mcstuffins dan Hi-5. Hi-5 tu bagus ye kawan-kawan. Anak aku go through learning process via kids show kat TV. Ada bagusnya jugak dan ada juga tak bagus. Pandai-pandai la korang tapis. Since Aulia' tahu ABC and One Two Three, huruf-huruf nya dia tak hafal. So aku homeschool kan dia.Bagi dia belajar pegang pencil, tracing letters, gunting kertas, colouring. masak-masak etc.

Mak aku memang pre-school teacher dah 20 tahun lebih. Dia pernah mengajar kat PASTI and SMART READER KIDS and ada bukak pre-school sendiri, Tapi mak aku dah bersara so duduk rumah goyang kaki je.hehe. So apa syllabus pun mak aku tahu untuk 4 y/o kids. Kadang-kadang mak aku yang homeschool Aulia'. Dia belajar doa-doa and language especially English and our third language Paki dengan mak aku. Bahasa Melayu takyah cakap la, tu dia terer. Kadang-kadang mak aku suruh dia recite doa makan in English..

Invest duit untuk beli buku yang bagus pun penting. Banyak buku yang bagus korang boleh jumpa dekat Kinokuniya. Memang aku selalu beli dekat situ. Beli buku with phonics sebab budak umur 2-5 y/o memang suka music and bunyi-bunyi. Dari situ boleh belajar sebutan.

Kalau rajin buat sendiri tracing letters. Bagi dia pegang pencil sampai dia selesa dia nak pegang ikut mana pun. Lama-lama dah okay dia akan conteng-conteng dulu. Korang guide la sampai dia nak ikut all the tracings.

Tiap-tiap malam aku akan baca storybooks untuk Aulia'. Storybooks ni aku kumpul setiap kali aku pegi bookstore memang aku akan beli. So dah penuh satu rak.  For kids yang umur 4 to 5 y/o beli buku yang ada gambar besar-besar. At this time, Aulia' dah boleh narrate sendiri cerita tu as per picture dalam buku.

Mak aku cakap this method boleh stimulate kid's brain function and make them more creative. Father-in-law aku penah bagitau brother-in-law aku dulu tak pernah pegi tadika. FIL aku beli komik bagi dia baca. Dia taktau baca pun, tapi dia tengok gambar-gambar and faham cerita tu sampai gelak terbahak-bahak. Bila pikir balik memang kelakar. He's now an oversea graduates, working as a mechanical engineer. Tuudia zaman dulu punya style stimulate anak kecik punya brain.

Lagi satu, aku percaya with arts, anak-anak kita boleh jadi lagi pintar. Gitew.
Aku memang suka art. Seni lukis, seni colouring ke apa. Kasi je anak kau conteng-conteng guna colour. Teach them what colour yang diorang guna tu.

Tuudia mak pakai kain batik duduk bersila.

Masa Aulia' umur 1 sampai 3 tahun dia suka la dok panjat-panjat masuk dalam kain bila aku sembahyang. Semua kids macam tu la. Kau letak dia sebelah, dia naik atas badan kau.

Tapi anak lagi penting melebihi kerja-kerja aku :) :) Selamat mencuba!

Saving the best for the last-Me!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
B's nature of work leaves me with no choice but to be independent. His work schedule knows no weekends and public holiday. But a kaki jalan I am by nature and nurture, what if it's only me and Aulia'? bring it on! Nak keluar jugak! I thought  it was impossible at first but naaa, practice makes perfect, I am so used to it already, you'll be surprised of what I can do with only one hand. Haha The skills develop naturally. From folding stroller and do groceries shopping while pushing the cart and her stroller? I have done all that. But there are time I do need hands from strangers, and kudos to Malaysians, they're helpful. And I think this is the perfect bonding time because Aulia' is with her baby sitter during the weekdays.

So there are times, I'd love to doll up, but now I have a plus one! How? I doll her up as well! luckily she's a daughter, dear God thanks for being so understanding! I am grateful! Tutu you say?! Of course! and…

The Hi5 Concert in Malaysia

Assalamualaikum wbt..
My little girl was so giddy about the Hi5 concert in Malaysia since we bought the tickets couple of months ago. She keep saying she's gonna dance along with the Hi5 songs with her friends in front of the stage. We bought the concert tickets via online at TicketPro.com and the concert is held for one week until before the xmas.  One ticket for Aulia' at the Mosh Pit area costs about RM 283 while another two tickets for hubby and myself costs about RM 113 per person.

We came a bit earlier than the show at KLPAC after having our lunch at home and we visited the lobby area and bought  Hi5 souvenir for Aulia'.

The show started at 2.30 p.m. and as soon as the kids heard the entrance announcement, they all are on their feet ready to rock the concert.
Chatterbox or known as "Chats" first appearance and the kids been screaming all the time when it all started including my little one. We can see her excitedly jumping around from our seat above the mo…

DIY Dulang Hantaran Fresh Flowers

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last week was my BIL E-day. So I was assigned by my MIL to do the 'Dulang Hantaran' and it decorations including all the goodies inside the dulang.. since this is only the engagement event, not so much personal items to be included in the dulang except for the rings.. both for merisik and engagement..
Since last time during my Nikah day, I did the DIY dulang hantaran using the artificial flowers and this time around I was thinking to do it with the fresh flowers. I purposely wanted it that way just because I can save a lot of time (since I am way too busy with my PhD study and I have to travel to and fro KL-JB) and at the same time we can avoid the hustle of keeping the dulang covered with dust in the store room. Lol..talking about experience huh!
And most importantly.. we can save a lot of money.. Lemme show you the trick..

Sending off dulang for fresh flower decorations can cost you up to RM75 to RM150 per tray excluding the items inside the dulang. Mi…
