Sakae Sushi with the new clans

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Since I came to UTM, I never introduce my new friends to my readers. As you know, I'm staying here  alone in the hostel and only go back to KL on fortnightly basis. So my study-mates here in the department are my new family now. When I first came, they were all very heartwarming welcoming me as the new addition in the department and hoping to develop more success in the future.

For the past couple of months, I started my PhD research from scratch which need a lot of fundamental recall from my Master and Undergraduate studies.Ya know, I've been in the industry for six years and that's need a massive recall ...and both of my main supervisor, Dr.Sharifah and co-supervisor, Dr.Jason really helps.

Recently, our department (Process System Engineering Center-PROSPECT) won the Gold and Jury Award in the 16th Industrial Art and Technology Exhibition (INATEX). Our Director, Dr. Sharifah was so happy with the results and she decided to treat us over lunch at Sakae Sushi.

This is my co-supervisor, Dr. Jason- he is a year older than me, very funny guy, soft spoken and the math programming genius. Everything is at his fingertips. That's how genius he is. I would be lost if he's not around, heeee, okay that sounds like a weirdo! But really, we discuss like almost everyday about my research.
This is my cubicle mate-Peng Yen, we called him PY. He's young, only 26 I guess and currently at his final semester to submit his PhD thesis.
This is me with my main supervisor, Dr. Sha and co-researcher, Saha. Saha is from Iran and also at her final semester to submit her PhD thesis. Dr. Sha is very talented young lecturer. At her age of 26 she already obtained her PhD and now she became the Director of PROSPECT department. She is responsible in supervising all her research students works and she aim to target all our research as a marketable product that will help the process industry in the future. Mine shall be one of it insya Allah :)

All the girls from the PROSPECT department, Rohani, Mismi, Huda, Linda and Wani..Glad to have them as my friends here. They are funny and sometimes crazy, omg hehe! We motivate each other a lot, because we need that through our journey of completing the PhD.
As usual, imma foodie kinda person. Hehe!
There are a lot of options here apart of sushi, you can order side dishes which I can't recall the names, you have to go yourself and find out haha.
 Our research group.
That's all about my new clans.. many more to come perhaps. Won't let myself shared the permanent head damage kinda stuff here hehe!. It would be more to fun and exciting journeys, In sya Allah :) :)

Saving the best for the last-Me!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
B's nature of work leaves me with no choice but to be independent. His work schedule knows no weekends and public holiday. But a kaki jalan I am by nature and nurture, what if it's only me and Aulia'? bring it on! Nak keluar jugak! I thought  it was impossible at first but naaa, practice makes perfect, I am so used to it already, you'll be surprised of what I can do with only one hand. Haha The skills develop naturally. From folding stroller and do groceries shopping while pushing the cart and her stroller? I have done all that. But there are time I do need hands from strangers, and kudos to Malaysians, they're helpful. And I think this is the perfect bonding time because Aulia' is with her baby sitter during the weekdays.

So there are times, I'd love to doll up, but now I have a plus one! How? I doll her up as well! luckily she's a daughter, dear God thanks for being so understanding! I am grateful! Tutu you say?! Of course! and…

DIY Dulang Hantaran Fresh Flowers

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last week was my BIL E-day. So I was assigned by my MIL to do the 'Dulang Hantaran' and it decorations including all the goodies inside the dulang.. since this is only the engagement event, not so much personal items to be included in the dulang except for the rings.. both for merisik and engagement..
Since last time during my Nikah day, I did the DIY dulang hantaran using the artificial flowers and this time around I was thinking to do it with the fresh flowers. I purposely wanted it that way just because I can save a lot of time (since I am way too busy with my PhD study and I have to travel to and fro KL-JB) and at the same time we can avoid the hustle of keeping the dulang covered with dust in the store room. Lol..talking about experience huh!
And most importantly.. we can save a lot of money.. Lemme show you the trick..

Sending off dulang for fresh flower decorations can cost you up to RM75 to RM150 per tray excluding the items inside the dulang. Mi…

Girls trip to Sabah

Memorial weekend after I had my HSG test, Mary, Kak Ju, Nini and I got to fly down to KK to spend three blissful days hanging out with our dear friend from uni, Jessica. The five of us studied together in UPM SIX years ago so we decided a reunion was a great excuse for me to ditch the husband and my little girl and have some serious girl-time in Sabah. Lucky for us Jess is an amazing host and planned everything out perfectly.

A few of the highlights were our stay at J Residence, the upside-down house in Tamparuli, Kundasang wet market, Desa Cattle Farm Kundasang, Luanti River Kelah fish spa and Sabah tea farm.

It was so refreshing to be with old friends and enjoy my first trip to north Borneo... and I can officially declare that I have covered most of the states in Malaysia (haven't cover Labuan yet!). yipsss!

My Instagram update for this photo: Waking up to this! -Our stay at J Residence Kundasang, the view is so breathtaking :)
Enjoying my morning view:)
