A Trip to the Petting Zoo

Assalamualaikum wbt..

We went out to the zoo yesterday afternoon to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. It was Aulia's second time going to the zoo since we went to the Night Safari in Singapore. She thought it was the best place ever.. haha..

It took us about 45 minutes from home to Seri Kembangan. We bought tickets at the entrance and proceed to the Farm In The City. We had spent an awesome time in there and having close contact with so many animals as well as feed them.

For your information, the admission fess for adult is RM30 and RM25 for child below 12 years (per person). The entire park is divided into 12 sections: Mood's Lake (World of Ducks and Geese), Turtle and Tortoise Farm, Bird Aviary, Reptile Carven, Rabbit Farm, Pet Village, Jungle Walk, Vegetable and Fruit Farm, Longkang Fishing and Kampung Mahmood. The park is completely free of cages where all animals are allowed to roam free except for wildlife.

We watched the birds for a good 30 minutes...Aulia' enjoy chasing after the chicken and watching the ducks swim in the pond.
What I love most about this petting zoo is of course, the animals here are domesticated. You can touch them and feed them, like we did.
Petting Zoo has more than 100 species of exotic animals such as rarest White Crow, giant Tortoise, world smallest species of Crocodile, world largest species of Rabbit, world smallest species of Kangaroo and many more!
The peacock behind us is so beautiful!
My husband and I enjoyed spending the day with Aulia' because we felt that she really enjoyed her visit to the petting zoo. The animals that we read about in books finally comes to life! But of course, she's a bit scared with the big animals. This is the first time she is big enough to walk around own her own and enjoy the exhibits. Whenever the bigger animals such as goats and reindeer came near us, she would stand close but eager to watch them.

The world's second smallest species of kangaroo-Wallaby. We saw Wallaby during our visit to Singapore's Night Safari.
Orchard with more than 100 tropical fruit trees and plants at vegetables and fruits farm. There were ostrich and cow too at this farm.
Aulia' tried to catch the fish at the Pet Village and feed the rabbits. There are also hamster and guinea pig. They are too cute!!
This is Jungle Walk section. We saw Marmoset, African Crested Porcupine and Iguana. Hubby was so interested with the Iguana that he took photo with it.
 Butterfly Garden.

Before we left, we briefly checked out the Horse Stable where the farm has two cute ponies. Aulia' was too small to ride the pony so we ended our visit after taking few photos.
The three of us had a blast! The weather was just nice, which I think makes for the perfect zoo walking around weather. I truly believe it is such a wonderful educational place for kids. An the most important, I can now mark off my No. 8 2014's resolution. But I'm still planning for the National Zoo visit with my lil' one :) :)

ECOPURE Masks

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Seriously, you could call me an ardent fan of masks because I've been using and loving masks that helps in hydrating and contouring my face while I'm working for hours on my computer to write and published blog posts in the wee hours of the midnight. If not for these moisturizing paper masks, my skin would have looked lifeless and dull in the next morning. Applying paper masks has always been part of skincare routine that I can't do without! And, guess what, I think the universe had heard my woes and introduced me to the ECOPURE's new series of face masks. These masks are all ECOCERT-certified which is free from 7 kinds of harsh chemicals (parabens, fragrances, artificial coloring, animal ingredients, silicones, benzoate and artificial antioxidants)

I couldn't have been more happy than to receive a box of all 4 ECOPURE masks (Danahan Ecopure Green Tea Mask, Danahan Ecopure Aloe Mask, Danahan Ecopure Shea Butter Mask and Danahan Ecopure Olive Mask). Not only that, I also get a set of Danahan intensive moisturizing set that comes with a toner and moisturizer, additional Ecopure Essential Tomato and Orange juice sheet masks.

After slapping on the face masks for about 20 minutes (as recommended under the instructional guide printed on the back of the box), I find that the skin on my face look brighter (but not exactly whiter per say) but let's just say this is exactly what I needed to pamper my skin after a long strenuous day at work. Whether you're a female or male, your face will love this stuff :) :) :)

Zombi

Assalamualaikum wbt..

After Aulia' has recovered from her fever, I was on my 2 days MC due to eyes infection. It first started when my bottom right corner of my right eye reddened. I went to consult the Ophthalmologists and the doctor gave me eye drops and he did mentioned that it might be due to the weather. I used the eye drops, hoping that the redness will go away but by the next morning, it didn't. It didn't worsen but it just remained red throughout the day despite placing the eye drops several times.

By night, it got from bad to worst. I noticed white spots at the bottom of my cornea. I thought it might go away the next day but it didn't. Throughout the night, when I slept, I felt tears coming out of my eye continuously. My eyes was already swelling due to the tears that kept flowing out and the redness which made me look like I was zombifying. I went to consult the doctor again. This time I was given the allergic pills, antibiotics, and another type of eye drops which I have to use every two hours on intervals.

I was sensitive to light, especially after placing the eye drops. Bright lights made my eyes (yes, eyes, not only the right eye but it made my left eye sensitive too) close and it made my head fell a little dizzy. I had to switch the room lights off and used my sunglasses while using the computer or watch TV. Even so, my eyes still felt like closing.  It was swollen and red. Not exactly a pretty sight but I had to bear with it.

Alhamdulillah, I'm thankful that I'm almost fully recovered today except for slight pain and sensitivity. I just need to drink a lot of water, apply the eye ointment and clean up my make up stuff such as mascara and brushes that I tend to used frequently at my eye area. Should this happen to you too, replace you make up stuff frequently and make sure to close the cap after using to minimise contamination. Do not use it on foreign surfaces and don't share it with others to prevent spread of infections.

Sick days

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Aulia' has been sick these past couple of days. It is fever that started Sunday evening. According to the doctor we are on about day 2 or 3 (of 3) today. So I am hoping that nights will start becoming more regular now! I called in sick and kept her from daycare yesterday. She received a big nasty ulcer shot and when we go home all she wanted to do was lay on the bed and watch Pocoyo. She was laying around, only with some coughing here and there. Last nights where still iffy, but not nearly as bad as the peek nights. She was moving around like crazy and she woke up once but after rocking her a little she went right back to sleep.

The next morning she was starting to feel like herself again, happy, running around, playing...then out of nowhere she would cry and be clingy, then happy again. Doctor said as long as she didn't have a high fever over 101 that she is fine to go back to daycare on Thursday. So Thursday will be back on the daily grind.

All comes down to....sorry for being MIA. I didn't return the call, replying SMSes, WhatsApp and emails. And I can now say that I know what a cough sounds like....it really does sound like a seal.

Get well soon my baby.

My 2014 New Year Resolution

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last year I had my New Year Resolution and I complete almost everything. Here's the review of it.

And here are my 2014 New Year Resolutions! As always, I feel like most of them are achievable! As I said before, this year is more about making me a better mom, wife and daughter.

My 2014 Resolution

1. Get a Canon for myself
Well, I really need a new camera and take more pictures.

2. Friday family movie night!
We've been doing this since last few months and we hope we can continue to do it this year. I reminding myself to have Friday family movie night every time so that I didn't drag myself too much on works.

3. Get involve with my extended family activities
I'm glad that last month my extended families get together for a family day. Most of them are now getting interested to involve with more activities in future. We have set up a group/a forum for discussion and get in touch with each others.

4. Take more pictures
I don't want to miss any moments with my love one. So I need to take up more photos and organize them.

5. Save more money
In order for me to get a healthy BIG account, I need to save up more than last year. Well, I know there's a lot more coming up ahead, i.e. buying a house, emergencies, life insurance, tolls spikes, yada yada... I can make a long list over here!

6. Take a family vacation
Despite the cost of almost everything increases now, me and my family still need a family vacation. Yes, we work hard. But we play hard too! I planned to visit at least 3 new places this year :)

7. Cook more often
I am obsessed with cooking shows, even though they make everything look so easy when it isn't. So I need to cook more often and try out their recipes or I just need to steal my mom's cook book.

8. Take Aulia' to zoo
I'm worried that my 3 y/o daughter won't recognized lion! She watched too much cartoons. It's time for her to see those animals in action! haha.

Also, the joy of having a 3 year old is that they can communicate with you! I asked Aulia' what she wanted to do this year and she gave me a list. All of these are her ideas and I love them all!

Aulia's 2014.

1. Play at the park

2. Read more books

3. Sing more songs

4. Help Ibu with laundry

5. Art Projects

6. Water Park

7. Grow up (she said it, should be an easy one!)

Do you have any New Year Resolutions? We do them since last year and I am excited to join Aulia' in the fun this year. I will try to be better about doing blog posts this year. Happy New Year everyone!

12 Months of Happiness

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Although I may not specifically say it every day every single month, I'm very happy and blessed for the big things in my life like my family, my overall good health, the fact that I have a good job, a cozy warm house, reliable vehicles, loving husband etc. I really try to not take any of that for granted.

Lately I've really been trying to make a conscientious effort to really appreciate the little things that I'm thankful for. It's something I've been working on for months now- having a positive attitude and being grateful for all that we've been blessed with. We truly have so much and I want to take time to recognize that. All of these little things add up to an overall positive outlook on life, which is just so important.

January 2013

I am thankful and blessed that my mom and dad is getting better and better with their health conditions. With the fact that my husband was outstation for six months, I've been putting alot of stressed to myself. I'm working hard to balance between my work and my daughter. But I'm lucky to have my family and besties all by my side. And the most important thing was that, my lil munchkin grows healthily and she is very active now.

February 2013

Aulia' missed her papa so much that they had video call almost everyday! I cooked special dish (and shared the yummy recipe!) for my husband when he returned home. We had long holidays during CNY and visited my uncle in Singapore. We went to USS, Night Safari and SEA Aquarium at Sentosa Island.

March 2013

The husband went back to work outstation again. The beginning of my emotional month. I was stuck on the same routines all over again; work, house chores, motherhood and I got personal about the time I'm having hard times dealing with my lil one. Last but not least, Aulia' started to do her funny talk. Me and my husband try to support her language learning by singing songs and read books.

April 2013

We enrolled Aulia' for swimming lesson and she has developed quite a sense of fashion. I completely freak out when she had HFMD. Lucky it doesn't turn out so bad. I met my Uni besties and we had lunch together. I have never missed my all time favorite retail therapy and going out for movies with the hub.

May 2013

We celebrated mom and dad birthday and I bought gifts for them. Aulia' started waking up at night when the husband still working outstation. I sort of started potty training her. My husband and I started to plan for baby #2 so we went to meet the Gynea. Nothing serious, everything was A okay. Aulia' turn 21 months and put a lot of effort pose in front of the camera like a model, hehe. I baked banana muffin and shared the recipe!

June 2013

This month marked my daughter swims underwater. We are very proud of her. I shared some of my breastfeeding experiences while working. I shared an A to Z of my husband, a note for my lil' munchkin and we celebrated father's day.

July 2013

I completed my June's goals and hoping to get better with my July's goals. We went to watch movie and bring along our lil' one. Aulia' started to call me Ibu and she melted my heart. I shared a recipe, does some preparations for my daughter's second birthday and we had a short trip to Gunung Lang.

August 2013

We celebrated Eid this month and Aulia' has turn TWO. We had a family photo session and I am full out for party planning. We celebrated Eid and Aulia' birthday at my in-law's place. We had wonderful time meeting our relatives and the kids had so much fun!

September 2013

Aulia' getting more and more talkative by now and she was talking to the mirror which was so hilarious. I continued potty training her and I realized how tall my baby has shot up. We took an amazing trip to Penang. Even though I had pretty bad day at work, I was so excited about our weekend trip to Sarawak. All in all, we had so much fun travelling with our lil' one.

October 2013

I vented. I had a serious love-hate relationship with the social media and had a monsoonal affective disorder. It wasn't a productive month for me. My darling hubs went out of town for work but he did call me almost every night before bedtime just to say "I love you":) We celebrated MIL birthday and Eidul Adha at hub's hometown.

November 2013

This is a special month for both of us. Hub and I turns 28. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. We went for a musical show and I shared some photos of Aulia' finger paints art. I love how she imagines things and paint them on the drawing block.

December 2013

A roller coaster of a month that started  out with the news of Tok Wan admitted to hospital. Everyone in the family was panicked.  I got stuck with work assignments and I had a serious discussion with hubby regarding Aulia's pre-school thingy, both of which really messed me up for a while. But I'm happy to say our family ended the year on a high note with an absolutely wonderful family day!

I think blogging has helped me reflect, gain perspective and to be more purposeful in my life--to make a concerted effort to do and photographs things that are worth remembering, but also to write about and photograph the little things I might otherwise forget.

This year, I hope to be as consistent as I was in 2013, and continue to write, solidify family memories and grow blog friendship. I'm looking forward to 2014!! Happy New Year peeps!
