The Hi5 Concert in Malaysia

Assalamualaikum wbt..

My little girl was so giddy about the Hi5 concert in Malaysia since we bought the tickets couple of months ago. She keep saying she's gonna dance along with the Hi5 songs with her friends in front of the stage. We bought the concert tickets via online at TicketPro.com and the concert is held for one week until before the xmas.  One ticket for Aulia' at the Mosh Pit area costs about RM 283 while another two tickets for hubby and myself costs about RM 113 per person.

We came a bit earlier than the show at KLPAC after having our lunch at home and we visited the lobby area and bought  Hi5 souvenir for Aulia'.

The show started at 2.30 p.m. and as soon as the kids heard the entrance announcement, they all are on their feet ready to rock the concert.
Chatterbox or known as "Chats" first appearance and the kids been screaming all the time when it all started including my little one. We can see her excitedly jumping around from our seat above the mosh pit.
The Hi5 team introducing themself before they start performing. They are Dayen, Ainsley, Stevie, and another two new members. My little girl favourite Hi5 team being Stevie Nicholson.
They begin with the spinning game with Chats. Each members have their own preferences about what song they want to sing. They made the kids guess what song they gonna sing and finally they start with the L.O.V.E song. I am pretty sure my lil kid down there is as excited as we do haha.

Show me an L.
Show me an O.
Show me a V.
And finish with an E.
L.O.V.E I love you and you love me.
L.O.V.E that's the way it's meant to be.
L.O.V.E I love you and you love me.
L.O.V.E I love you and you love me.
L.O.V.E
L.O.V.E

So catchy huh!
They came out with few big balloons and passed it around the mosh pit and to the upper seats with a lot lots of bubbles making the kids down there went crazy screaming and jumping non-stop. I can see my baby girl also trying to reach the balloons but she was too small to catch it.
 They played the animals zoo, catching fish in the deep blue sea, wild animals in the jungle, superhero robotic and many more.
 It's a total 30 minutes show before the Hi5 team went for a break. Still, you can see the kids are so energetic from the beginning of the show.
I guess my little munchkin has been exhausted from jumping so she insisted me to came down to the mosh pit and sit with her. Some parent took this time to bring their child for diaper change and drinks.
Once they back for the show, the kids begin to rock again. There you go my little kid. If you literally can see her down there at the mosh pit.
 This is the view from the mosh pit. I was like wow! I've been as excited as the kiddos when I saw them dancing.haha..

Hi5!!!
 The show finished one and half hour later and we went again to the merchandise stall since Aulia' really wanted the Hi5 balloon.. this girl really know how to persuade her dad with her cute face tho. She score two! one for the umbrella and one for the balloon.Overall, she enjoyed the show and keep talking about how she singing and dancing during the concert. And we are all very satisfied because the show is entertaining and the Hi5 team were very energetic all the time.

DIY Dulang Hantaran Fresh Flowers

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last week was my BIL E-day. So I was assigned by my MIL to do the 'Dulang Hantaran' and it decorations including all the goodies inside the dulang.. since this is only the engagement event, not so much personal items to be included in the dulang except for the rings.. both for merisik and engagement..

Since last time during my Nikah day, I did the DIY dulang hantaran using the artificial flowers and this time around I was thinking to do it with the fresh flowers. I purposely wanted it that way just because I can save a lot of time (since I am way too busy with my PhD study and I have to travel to and fro KL-JB) and at the same time we can avoid the hustle of keeping the dulang covered with dust in the store room. Lol..talking about experience huh!

And most importantly.. we can save a lot of money..
Lemme show you the trick..

Sending off dulang for fresh flower decorations can cost you up to RM75 to RM150 per tray excluding the items inside the dulang. Minus if the dulang is your, so the cost could reduce to RM50 to RM70 per tray. Let say you have a total of 7 dulang, it would at least cost you about RM490- minus your goodies.

Except if you're the only child in the house and buying dulang for goods is a waste of money then you can send it for outsiders decorations. I can tell you, you're saving money a lot by doing that. Because a dulang can cost you about RM15 to RM30.

So, should you have your own dulang (recycle la balik for your next siblings) buying fresh flower and decorate it yourself is much more cheaper compared to sending it off for other people to decorate it for you.

I bought Indian Roses bouquet for RM20/bouquet which consist of 20 to 25 of roses, 1 bouquet of New White Peacock cost for RM10, 1 bouquet of Baby's Breath cost me about RM 20 and 1 bouquet of Bahatus which cost me RM20. So all together is RM150. But actually you can opt for the Indian Roses and Baby's Breath and I personally think that would be sufficient enough to decorate your dulang.

I bought all the flowers from my favourite florist. It was my mom's favourite too! If you're smart enough you can bargain for a cheaper price..

You can get the fresh flower here..

and this is my little helper..

What you need to do:

1) Get few water sponge..(people call it H2O sponge)..from the flower shop or any bridal store..they should have that;

2) You need an aluminium foil;

3) Once you brought back your flowers, soak the roots of the flowers into a pail of water for one night (so make sure you bought the flower two days before the event);

4) Crop your water sponge into your desired measurement. It always depends on your tray size and the shape whether it is rectangular or round shape.

5) Soak your water sponge into a pail of water for 15 minutes;

4) Wrap your water sponge with the aluminium foil;

5) Start decorating your fresh flower.

Sweet November and I'm 29.

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Today's my birthday. For some reason, in my mind I'm only turning 25. In reality...I'm 29. But this time, no jokes from me about how I'm 27 again..and definitely I'm freaking out that I'm turning the 'The three series' next year omg!

Really, I'm just so thankful for the wonderful year I had, hopeful for the year ahead, and very grateful for all of the sweet birthday wishes I've gotten from friends, family and even strangers.

It's been a great day. I got some big birthday hugs (literally from mommy in her message) this morning then got decked out in my favourite color top and matching scarf, and headed to school, feeling pretty darn good...and suddenly the flower man came.

 My husband secretly send the flower for my birthday knowing that we are 400km far from each other, he must have planned this earlier * sweetness overloaded*. He being the 'old school' kinda person-has no idea of expressing his love to people (especially me!) and never once send me flower since the day we got married. I only got flower twice from him and that was long before we got married. 1st and the 2nd was on my graduation day.

My friend took me out for lunch treat and surprise me with cake. I ended the day with impromptu visit to the cinema with my 'new bff' at school. It's been a low-key birthday for sure, but that's just because it's on Saturday and I had to complete my conference paper, not because I want to forget about it..and yeah, I missed my baby so much!

As one of my favourite bloggers said " Here's what I think about birthdays: Celebrate them. Plain and simple. Whether you are two or forty-two.  It's not a promotion. It's not a graduation. It's the anniversary of freaking life. And the older I get, the more I'm not okay with hearing people downplay their big day like it's no big deal" Well, she's right, it is a big deal! Yeah, I may be older, but I'm also wiser and my life is more full from all the things I've experienced in my 29 years (not the least of which is the little girl I've acquired along the way). Hubby planned to have more soon! He just said it the night before my birthday. I'm speechless btw. We've been waited for three years for having another one. And now I'm in school again, having the mission of getting my PhD on time. Hopefully. Whatever comes from God, we are thankful for that. And we never stop praying for another miracle in our little family.

This is my sweet November and I always pray it will remain sweet like this forever.

Cuzzy day out to the Butterfly Park

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last week we went to the KL Bird Park and we also spend the weekend to the Butterfly Park. This time around I brought along my nieces, 'Aina and 'Amani to have fun together with Aulia'.. They seems so excited when I said we gonna visit the Butterfly park.

The three of them looks cute together :)

The entry fees are quite cheap here compared to the KL Bird Park. Perhaps the Butterfly Park is not as big as the Bird Park though. It's only RM 6.00 per adult and RM 3.00 for child 3 years and above.

Basically nothing much here at the garden except thousand different kind of butterfly species. But it fun though when the kiddos running around trying to catch the butterfly and one of my niece wanted to bring one back home. They also want to show their skills capturing the butterfly image using my camera :)
The garden area is well landscaped with waterfall and few other water bodies. Many indigenous species of plants area available, including the nepenthes which prey on ants and the water lily.

The exhibition hall is quite informative, the girls was impressed with the man-face bug and they go like ''Eyhhhh Mak Long look! macam muka orang!" Haha..yes the man-face bug boast the familiar patterns like faces or tribal masks on their shield. While potential predators waste precious time wondering whether it's food, enemy or prey, the masked creatures plot their protection tactics or escape. Genius ha! That's the miracle of the Almighty. He created everything with a purpose.

We spent about an hour an a half at the farm, and mind you, sufficient drink is required to keep us hydrated. Butterflies will be attracted by human sweat, so we should not be surprised that we will become attraction to the insects once we get wet due to sweating.

Besides the beautiful insects, there are a lot more to see! In the exhibition hall, you can found  the disgusting giant millipede, water scorpion, geckos, tarantula and many more. Before leaving the farm compound, we walked through a series of gift and souvenir shop where the only exit was located. Genius! But above all, the girls truly enjoy the visiting!

To the Bird Park we go!

Assalamualaikum wbt...

Wednesday was a public holiday (Deepavali) and I was thinking hard of where to bring Aulia' and we finally decided to go to KL Bird Park. We've never been here eventhough we've been living in KL for ages. It always the best part when we spend time the three of us...and the best part was our little kiddo is excited to see all those birds.

I was so surprised to see how big the place is. Who knew there is such a huge bird park in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. By the time we came, it was a scorching 33 degree! Dam hot man..my little girl cannot tahan! Puteri lilin kan...

The bird park is divided into 5 zones. Each has its so called own partition but we didn't manage to explore further due to raining in the afternoon. My back was hurting from all those walks by the way..auucchh talk about aging gracefully hehe!and my girl has become the lazy bum she refused to walk because it was scorching (just exactly like her dad!) but she was so happy though when she saw birds flying everywhere and because its colorful too!

Most of the birds are left wondering around freely in the park and we can actually feed them. They even provide you with seeds.

There are 30 minutes bird show at 12.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. and we manage to catch the first session. But it was a long walk to arrive at Zone 4 arena omg, I really underestimated the place. It is huge!

We took an ice cream break after the show and the sky getting darker warned us its going to be raining soon.

..and we continue walking through the zones as it lead us to the exit gate..

we passed by the cassowary cage..

..and went to egg hatching gallery...

We walked for almost two hours inside the park. Yes, we had fun a lot! I would recommend to anyone who haven't visited the place to go and check it out. The entrance fee is RM 25.00 per adult and RM 12.00 for children below 12 years old. But you need to show your Mykad and Mykid at the ticket counter. I would advise you to bring your own snack and most importantly plenty of water as a small mineral water would cost you RM 4.00 each within the bird park area. That is kind of absurd to me.

So we went back only when the rain has stopped and get our lunch outside the premise.
