My banana whoopie pies become muffins

Assalamualaikum wbt..

In this household we take Bananas seriously :D It's one of the best fruits there ever is! Which is why stocking it up on weekends is a must for us.
Do head over here to read about the goodness of this yellow fruit.
Anyway, I've been baking diligently for the past 2 weeks- some with very happy outcome that made our big tum tum thank us and some, not so :)

I came across the recipe for banana whoopie here  and was intrigued how a whoopie pie might taste like. I followed the recipe to the tee and substituted yogurt for the sour cream (coz sour cream are expensive!) and ended with these:

Whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop, oopa whoopie style:

Except I wasn't convince whoopie pies are supposed to be soft with a muffin/ bread like texture. The idea of filling it up with cream cheese in the middle was repulsive for some strange reason. So I popped the 'pies' into my mouth and damn, it was LOVE at first bite. Minus cream cheese and fillings and all. Sometimes, some things are good enough to be eaten alone!

I had a request from the husband to make it again (always a sign it's good!) and it was him who suggested I make it into muffin form. I of course happily obliged coz getting making these babies small using a ice cream scoop is a bit of a pain.

It was a nice moment roping my daughter in to give her helping hand in baking. She was very excited over her very important task of helping out with mashing the bananas. She tried to steal a few bites of course, oh yes she did! Monkeys should never go near bananas I swear, lol, I kid!

Perfect scoop not required. That's the beauty of baking just for family. haha. And it's all ready to be popped into the oven.

Some 20 minutes later... a beautiful aroma consisting a familiar banana smell was hitting the kitchen and living room which prompted the little one to run to ask if its ready..She always does that whenever there's something in the oven.

Perfect banana muffin which made an awesome quick breakfast! We made this on Saturday night and half of it finished within minutes! Amazing..
Instead of 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar as called by the recipe, I only used 1/2 cup brown sugar in order to make it a little healthier. The husband whacked half of the tray ALL BY HIMSELF and we were down to only 5 muffin (of course Aulia' and I whacked one each too) for weekend breakfast, haha.

Mmmm..B.A.N.A.N.A muffins!

And thats lady and gents, is how we butchered a whoopie pie recipe into becoming our favorite banana muffin for the family. Regardless, thank you, Martha, you've got me anxious baking on Saturdays now:) Highly recommend you try this recipe for the kids and family-they will LOVE it! And you of course!

Saving the best for the last-Me!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
B's nature of work leaves me with no choice but to be independent. His work schedule knows no weekends and public holiday. But a kaki jalan I am by nature and nurture, what if it's only me and Aulia'? bring it on! Nak keluar jugak! I thought  it was impossible at first but naaa, practice makes perfect, I am so used to it already, you'll be surprised of what I can do with only one hand. Haha The skills develop naturally. From folding stroller and do groceries shopping while pushing the cart and her stroller? I have done all that. But there are time I do need hands from strangers, and kudos to Malaysians, they're helpful. And I think this is the perfect bonding time because Aulia' is with her baby sitter during the weekdays.

So there are times, I'd love to doll up, but now I have a plus one! How? I doll her up as well! luckily she's a daughter, dear God thanks for being so understanding! I am grateful! Tutu you say?! Of course! and…

DIY Dulang Hantaran Fresh Flowers

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Last week was my BIL E-day. So I was assigned by my MIL to do the 'Dulang Hantaran' and it decorations including all the goodies inside the dulang.. since this is only the engagement event, not so much personal items to be included in the dulang except for the rings.. both for merisik and engagement..
Since last time during my Nikah day, I did the DIY dulang hantaran using the artificial flowers and this time around I was thinking to do it with the fresh flowers. I purposely wanted it that way just because I can save a lot of time (since I am way too busy with my PhD study and I have to travel to and fro KL-JB) and at the same time we can avoid the hustle of keeping the dulang covered with dust in the store room. Lol..talking about experience huh!
And most importantly.. we can save a lot of money.. Lemme show you the trick..

Sending off dulang for fresh flower decorations can cost you up to RM75 to RM150 per tray excluding the items inside the dulang. Mi…

Hans birth story

After nine long months, no wait, after ten long months we finally get to hold our baby boy in our arms and announce his arrival to our family and friends.
It was Tuesday, 2nd January 2018 I was at 40+1 weeks pregnant. I had a stressful week prior. A lot was going on with family, getting ready for A's primary school, trying to get ready for the baby and also nesting like a crazy woman! I was in a complete organising, cleaning frenzy, with my victim being the kitchen.

A few weeks before I went into labour I had been experiencing what I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions (with Aulia' I was induced which is very intense from the start so I assumed these contraction couldn't be pre-labour as it wasn't too painful). The Braxton Hicks continued over a couple of weeks and then nearly to new year I was very nervous the baby did not show any signs to come out. I can't really explain exactly how I felt, but I was ridiculously emotional. Most of the days I was crying my …
